The moment Jessica Simpson discovered she was pregnant was one of the happiest of her life. But nothing could compare to Jessica’s joy after finding out that she and fiancé Eric Johnson are going to be parents to a beautiful baby girl.

“She’s telling people it’s like winning the lottery, twice,” a friend tells In Touch exclusively.

Now, the 31-year-old mom-to-be is happily prepping for her princess’ arrival, splurging on adorable girlie baby clothes and decorating the nursery — complete with a $14,500 crib! — in shades of yellow, green and pink.

The happy couple, who still plan to wed in Hawaii on November 11 despite Jessica’s growing belly, are also excitedly discussing baby names like Morgan or Karen for their daughter. “She and Eric are both so happy,” the friend gushes.

And while Eric, 32, was originally hoping for a boy, the friend says that he’s changed his tune. “He’s telling pals that his daughter will be a daddy’s girl,” the friend says, revealing that Eric has already ordered pink bubblegum cigars to hand out when the baby arrives. Meanwhile, Jessica is excited about playing with dolls and having tea parties — and with such a doting mommy, the lucky little lady is sure to have a charmed life!

Dressed in a flowing striped maxi dress, a beaming Jessica Simpson smiled as she arrived for a baby shower at the Ivy at the Shore restaurant in Santa Monica. The performer, along with her mom, Tina; sister, Ashlee; and 2-year-old nephew, Bronx, was at the restaurant on Oct. 15 to celebrate childhood friend Stephanie McGuire Terblanche’s impending motherhood — but that’s not the only baby the Simpson clan is getting ready for! “Jessica is so excited,” says a close friend, who confesses that Jessica has been slowly telling all her pals that she and fiancé Eric Johnson, 32, are becoming parents. “She joked, ‘Well, now I can eat anything I want and no one will care. It’s just sort of a rule with pregnant women.’ But it was typical Jessica that she was making a joke of it.”

At 31, Jessica has learned to take life’s little twists and turns in stride. Although she originally told her friends that she didn’t plan to have a baby before she was married to Eric, to whom she became engaged this past November, the order of these happy events hasn’t really mattered to her. Jessica is just delighted finally to become a mother.

If you believe the reports saying that there is trouble in paradise for Jessica Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson, think again! While there have been a few reports surfacing that their nuptials have been put on hold “indefinitely,” Celebuzz is hearing otherwise.
A source close to Jess told us that even though they have been engaged for almost a year now:

“There is just not a date yet. It’s not anything more than that.”

These two are obviously still going strong, as they were seen grabbing some dinner together earlier this week. Eric and Jessica started dating in summer 2010, and became engaged late last year.

According to the tab, a “stressed out” Simpson wants to simply “run away to get married!”

The Enquirer, which week after week after week prints inaccurate stories about Simpson, now says she’s “so frazzled” over her upcoming wedding on November 11, “she’s begging her beau, former NFL player Eric Johnson, to fly away with her so they can tie the knot alone.”

The magazine adds that she recently told a friend that if she “doesn’t act fast, the tension could cause her to scrap their engagement altogether.”

This is all very juicy, except for one, teensy weensy fact… Simpson has NOT even begun planning her wedding.

There’s nothing to “run away” from or “scap.”

A trusted pal of Simpson tells Gossip Cop, “They have not set a date or a plan for the wedding,” adding they’re just “enjoying being engaged.”

Nicole Richie has laughed off reports of a feud with Jessica Simpson on the set of their upcoming TV show Fashion Star, declaring, “I love and adore Jessica!”

The two stars, who both have their own fashion lines, are currently shooting their roles as celebrity mentors on the new reality show, amid tabloid reports of a bitter rivalry.

But now the socialite has spoken out to set the record straight, insisting speculation of infighting is false.
She tells Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest, “I’ll tell you right now that that couldn’t be further from the truth. I actually love and adore Jessica.

“I’ve known her for years, first of all, so I already knew who she was as a person. Who she is is someone who’s very kind, very sweet and extremely smart and a great businesswoman and someone that I really respect… I actually couldn’t love someone or respect someone more.”

On Fashion Star, Simpson and Richie will advise aspiring designers competing for the chance to start their own fashion ranges.
