Happy 30th birthday, indeed!

Jessica Simpson and her new fling, married former NFL player Eric Johnson, couldn’t keep their hands off each other on a yacht while they were celebrating her big day Saturday.

It’s just the latest steamy photo to surface from Simpson’s birthday celebration on the Italian island of Capri. On Friday, the couple of about five weeks wrapped their arms around each other while sightseeing.

The new issue of Us Weekly reports they’ve gotten very serious, very quickly. He’s already introduced her to his family, and she even attended his grandparents’ 60th wedding anniversary celebration — as this exclusive Us photo shows.

Simpson, who has faced failed romances with Tony Romo, Billy Corgan and John Mayer since divorcing Nick Lachey in 2006, once admitted that she thought her life would turn out much differently than it has.

“I thought I had it figured out; I’m going to be this great pop star, be married, have babies,” Simpson said. “But things can be taken from you.”

But an insider tells the new issue of Us Weekly that the VH1 reality star is “really happy” with Johnson, 30, who filed for divorce from his wife of five years last January.

It was a sizzling 30th birthday celebration Friday night for Jessica Simpson, who kissed and snuggled with her new beau, former pro football player Eric Johnson, at a party on Italy’s Isle of Capri.

Since they started dating in May, this was their latest PDA-filled, globe-trotting adventure, following an affectionate Fourth of July at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Florida.

For her birthday (which is actually Saturday), Simpson got a sparkler-bedecked cake. When they weren’t locking lips, she and Johnson, also 30, danced, goofed in silly wigs and posed for pictures.

Remember OK! magazine’s bizarre, completely baseless cover story this week claiming Jessica Simpson was about to become a mom? Well, the outlet is doubling down on its laughable “reporting.”

Today it suggests that an Italian jaunt with new boyfriend Eric Johnson offers new evidence Simpson might be expecting. Photographers caught the couple strolling in Capri, and Simpson’s “loose-fitting and roomy” outfit is “causing tongues to wag.”

This time, OK! can’t even muster the strength to comment specifically on Simpson’s appearance, instead speculating that her flowing caftan is “perhaps perfect for hiding a baby bump.”

To recap: in the span of two days, OK! has gone from announcing on its cover that Jessica Simpson’s baby is “confirmed” to observing lamely that she wore a loose dress.

It is true that pregnant women favor loose clothing.

It’s also true that stores will sell it to women who aren’t pregnant.

A rep for Simpson calls pregnancy talk “absurd.” Gossip Cop, meanwhile, will sadly leave our flowing gowns in the closet for the rest of the summer, for fear of “causing tongues to wag.”

But what about her professional life?

According to a Showbiz Spy story, which spread like lice in a summer camp, Simpson “wants Katy Perry to help her reboot her pop career.”

A so-called “source close to Simpson” tells the site, “She’s hoping [Perry] might be able to work with her in some way and maybe even perform with her.”

Gossip Cop looked into whether the Southern sweetheart was going to collaborate with the “California Gurl” singer, and was simply told by Simpson’s rep, “No.”

Safe to also say Simpson and Perry won’t be collaborating with… Showbiz Spy.

Jessica Simpson and her new beau, former NFL player Eric Johnson, have been spending quality time together – including a cozy Fourth of July celebration.

Two days after Simpson attended the grand opening of the Casino Club at The Greenbrier Sulphur Springs, W. Va., she was spotted with Johnson at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Florida.

“They were very nice,” says bartender Ben Brewer. “She was wearing shorts and big shades. She did look absolutely stunning.”

The singer, who turns 30 on Saturday, and Johnson, 30, lounged by the pool and sipped fruity cocktails at the resort on the holiday.

But their romantic getaway was short lived: The following morning they had to return to the real world. Although they have kept their romance low-key, they weren’t shy about showing some PDA at the Jacksonville, Fla., airport, where sources say they hopped a flight to Los Angeles.

“They were definitely huggy-kissy at the ticket counter,” says one eyewitness.

“They were holding hands,” adds another observer, “and she was rubbing his back and scratching his head. They were affectionate.”

OK! has gone baby crazy.

The same publication that once claimed Tom Cruise was set to pay Katie Holmes $75 million for a second child and (wrongly) insisted… and insisted … and insisted that Jennifer Aniston was set to become a mom is back with more baby blather.

According to OK!’s cover, a baby for Jessica Simpson has been “confirmed.” “Finally, A Baby For Jess” screams both the cover and the story’s headline. So what makes the tabloid’s crack team of obstetricians — consistently wrong in the past — convinced that Simpson is expecting?

The actress showed off a “fuller-figured look” at a “July 4″ Greenbrier Casino Club gala, observes the magazine, which can’t even get the event’s date right (it was July 2).

OK! cites a doctor (who hasn’t treated Simpson) as saying that her tummy and facial features are typical of a woman “in her 10th to 12th week of pregnancy.” Just in case that airtight argument falls through, OK! also points out that Simpson has a new boyfriend, Eric Johnson, whom a “source” calls “husband and father material.”

Plus, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz told Redbook last October that her big sister wants a baby.

Still unconvinced?

She’s working out and dieting regularly (which, as everyone knows, never happens unless the goal is pregnancy) and has “thrown herself into expanding her booming fashion empire” (which, as everyone knows, is what women do during the first trimester).

OK! explains that Simpson is doing more design work because it allows her to stay home. Apparently, it never occurs to the magazine that she just likes designing. Of course, it also never occurs to OK! that someone might actually check to see whether Simpson is expecting a baby.

Gossip Cop did — and she’s not. A rep for Simpson tells us the story is “absurd and not true at all.” The only thing OK!’s cover “confirmed” is the tab’s laughable track record.

Looks like Jessica Simpson has found quite a catch in former football star Eric Johnson.

“He’s one of the nicest guys around,” says an NFL insider, who has worked with the ex-San Francisco 49ers player. “I’m surprised he is dating her. She is such a big star and he is so reserved.”

Johnson, who also played briefly for the New Orleans Saints, definitely has experience with the limelight, however.

The 6′ 3″ Needham, Mass., native has excelled at sports since he was a kid. At 13, he hit a hole in one on the golf course, and he broke 11 school records while playing wide receiver for Yale University. He’s also a former academic All-American, who was called “The Big Nerd” by his Yale friends, according to a 2004 article in the San Francisco Chronicle.

“He is very smart,” says the NFL source, “and he is one of the most down-to-earth athletes I know.”

And that could come in handy when dating a Hollywood starlet.

Simpson began dating Johnson in May after friends introduced them. He’s currently separated from his wife, Keri, who filed for divorce earlier this year.

“He is the polar opposite of what you think of when you say ‘player,’ ” says the NFL source. “When I met him, he was driving a Prius when other athletes were driving gas-guzzling cars.”

Looks like Jessica Simpson is back in the dating game – with another football player.

The singer, who dated Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo for two years, is dipping back into the NFL dating pool, seeing former San Francisco 49ers tight end Eric Johnson.

“It’s true,” a source close to Simpson confirms to PEOPLE, adding that the pair have been dating since May.

Adds a friend of the singer: “She is happy that she found a great guy. She’s really happy.”

Simpson has been making other changes as well. On June 27, the pop star Tweeted: “[I] shocked my system with a vegan diet, special Pu-erh tea from China and cupping since Friday!”

The singer, who turns 30 on Saturday, has said that she’s working on her self-esteem and feels hopeful about finding love.

“I think [30] is going to be a good year for me,” the Price of Beauty star said in May. “I can find love anywhere.”

Jessica Simpson was in a great place at the lavish grand opening of the Greenbrier Casino in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia on Tuesday (Jul 2).

The singer walked the red carpet, but quickly rushed past reporters opting not to talk.

Later in the evening, she was called on stage and surprised with a big cake with sparklers to celebrate her 30th birthday (which is on July 10th) and then treated to a vibrant concert from Lionel Richie!

When MJ walked past Jessica at the concert, he stopped and said “I just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday — you look so beautiful tonight!” Jessica responded vibrantly, “Thank you so much, you’re so sweet!”

Well, MJ decided that was his time to tell Jessica how he feels about her, so he asked, “Can I sit down for a just a second? I have to tell you something…” to which Jessica said, “Sure, absolutely. Sit!”

Then a security staffer taps me and says, “Get up! Now!”

Jessica said — “No, it’s okay! I want to talk to him…” (Do you die?)

So MJ sits down. He tells her that no matter what anyone says, she is so beautiful in person. He said it’s a shame the media picks on her so much, and he knows what it feels like to be picked on — in a different but similar way. She stopped me almost mid-sentence, and said “I noticed you on the red carpet, with your sparkly blazer… There’s something really special about you. You have an amazing energy… I see big things in your future…”

That’s when MJ‘s eyes nearly filled with tears. Jessica stroked his face with her soft hands and said, “You’re beautiful!”

• 1 oz. lowland white tequila (like Herradura)
• ½ oz. triple sec
• 1 lime
• 1 oz. blueberry-pomegranate juice
• 5 fresh blueberries

Combine tequila, triple sec, juice from half a lime and pomegranate juice with ice in cocktail shaker. Shake hard. Strain into glass over fresh ice. Garnish with blueberries and lime wheel.
