Jessica Simpson has reached a settlement to bring an end to the $12 million years-long court battle with an alleged con man over the sale of her fashion company.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the singer and a man named Jeffrey Bowler have dropped their dueling lawsuits against each other over the $120 million sale of The Jessica Collection in 2015.
The docs note that the settlement covers the entire case and all claims against the other.
Back in 2016, Bowler sued Jessica Simpson, her father, mother and sister Ashlee, accusing them of screwing him out of $12 million from the sale of the singer’s fashion company.
Bowler claimed he made a deal with Joe Simpson in which he would be paid a 10% finder’s fee if he could find a buyer for The Jessica Simpson brand, which Jessica sold for a reported $120 million dollars. He admitted he did not have a written contract with Joe due to the deal being made on the phone over 10 years ago.
According to his lawsuit, Bowler said he was the one who put Joe in touch with the buyer and even arranged the meeting and helped finalize the deal for the parties.
Jessica filed court docs demanding the $12 million suit be thrown out, calling Bowler and his case nothing more “despicable attempt to extort millions of dollars from a world-famous celebrity, entrepreneur and fashion icon.”

Jessica announced earlier today on Instagram that she is expecting baby no. 3!!! Congratulations to the happy family!
It has been 15 years since Jessica Simpson cracked open a can of tuna and uttered a sentence that would make pop culture history: “Is this chicken what I have, or is this fish? It says Chicken By The Sea.”
The star had said those words to then-husband Nick Lachey on their reality show Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica, which ended in 2005 after three seasons, months before their split. Now married to Eric Johnson for four years and the mother of their son and daughter, Jessica, who began her career as a singer, has since moved on to concentrate on her fashion and beauty empire. She spent a year in 2012 mentoring contestants on Fashion Star and soon, she will make a reality TV return, briefly, in the name of family.
Jessica said she will make an appearance on sister and fellow singer Ashlee Simpson Ross’ new E! docu-series ASHLEE+EVAN with husband Evan Ross.
“I’m on their show, definitely, a for a big moment,” Jessica told E! News at the 2018 Beautycon event in Los Angeles on Saturday. “But really, the show is about their discovery in their music and in their relationship. It’s very exciting. They’re so cute together. I’m exciting for the world to see what I’ve already seen.”

Jessica Simpson‘s incredibly romantic wedding was this weekend — and once we stopped talking about the dress, the veil, the shoes and her very fancy wedding party, we (of course) had to discuss that hair.
Celebrity hair colorist Rita Hazan, who has been working with Simpson for about 15 years, gave us the exclusive scoop on how she got the star’s signature blonde strands sleek, shiny and absolutely perfect for her July 5 wedding to Eric Johnson.
To complement Simpson’s elegant champagne-colored Carolina Herrera gown, Hazan had only one option for the star: blonde. “Jessica just had to be blonde. She looks her best as a blonde,” Hazan tells PEOPLE exclusively.
And not just any shade of blonde: inspiration for the hue came directly from Simpson’s two-year-old daughter, Maxwell. “I wanted her hair to be timeless, so the color was more of a baby blonde [to match] Maxwell’s color, with subtle highlights that blend into her hair,” Hazan said.
To coordinate with the timing of the ceremony, Hazan began prepping Simpson’s tresses six months in advance by traveling to Los Angeles to do single process color and highlights each month. She made sure to schedule her final touch-up the week of the wedding for that perfectly glossy shade.
Hazan’s top priority? Creating dimension to ensure the color “didn’t look fake.” Hazan explains that each step in the coloring process is crucial in order to keep the color natural-looking — and to make sure that Simpson didn’t appear washed-out against her pale dress. “Highlight placement is important, and the tone is the most important. It has to be perfect: not too pale and not too golden,” she says.
To keep the hue intact before the big day, Hazan had Simpson apply the colorist’s own Ultimate Shine Color Gloss in “Breaking Brass” each time she shampooed, along with a conditioning treatment the week of the wedding.
With such extensive hair prep, it’s no wonder the star looked picture-perfect on her big day!
For their romantic July 5 nuptials, Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson focused on one thing.
“It’s all about family for us,” Simpson tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story, in which the newlyweds talk about their favorite wedding memories for the first time – and share 27 exclusive photos.
So for the big day, the bride asked her mom, Tina, and her sister, Ashlee, to be her maids of honor. Johnson’s father, Stephen, stepped in as best man, while Ashlee’s fiancé, Evan Ross, was one of 11 groomsmen. (Simpson had 12 bridesmaids!)
Plus, the pair exchanged traditional vows during a nondenominational ceremony officiated by Simpson’s dad, Joe.
But it was their kids – 2-year-old flower girl Maxwell and 1-year-old ring bearer Ace – who stole the show.
“Before I walked out, I kept hearing all the applause, so my kids got standing ovations!” says the proud mom, 33.
By the time Simpson made her entrance, however, a hush fell over the 275 guests gathered at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, and there were audible gasps as people caught a glimpse of the bride in her stunning Carolina Herrera wedding gown.
“I saw my gorgeous wife coming towards me and she was crying,” says Johnson, 34, who wore a custom charcoal gray John Varvatos tuxedo. “I think my heart was exploding a little bit.”
Simpson felt the same way throughout her wedding day: “It’s so surreal. This has been something we’ve wanted ever since we met.”

When Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson exchanged I Dos in front of their friends and family on July 5, the couple told PEOPLE it was “the happiest moment of our lives.”
For Simpson, who turns 34 on July 10, it proved be one of the most beautiful moments as well. As seen in PEOPLE’s photo exclusive, the bride chose a wedding day look that was “sexy, easy and ethereal,” says Simpson’s hair stylist Roque Jimenez. “Nothing too contrived.”
To complement her stunning custom Carolina Herrera gown and veil, Simpson’s makeup artist Karan Mitchell chose a romantic palette for her makeup. And to add some simple sparkle, Simpson’s longtime friend and stylist Nicole Chavez added Neil Lane diamond earrings.
“It was a labor of love,” says Chavez of putting together Simpson’s wedding day look.
Same could be said for the event itself. “The whole weekend was magical for us,” Simpson tells PEOPLE. “We feel complete.”

For her nuptials to Eric Johnson on July 5, Jessica Simpson didn’t opt for a slinky silhouette to show off her incredible post-baby body. Instead Simpson, who turns 34 on July 10, teamed up with fashion icon Carolina Herrera to create a sumptuous champagne and gold strapless multi-layer tulle gown.
“The whole dress is embroidered in gold and feels very regal,” Herrera tells PEOPLE of the design. Her goal was to transform the bride into a “beautiful golden girl,” says Herrera, who first met Simpson at Vanity Fair‘s post-Oscars party in 2010 and recently dressed her for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in May.
To complete the custom look, Simpson wore a cathedral length veil, Brian Atwood shoes and Neil Lane jewelry. As a final touch, Herrera added a blue ribbon on the inside of the gown as Simpson’s something blue. “I always do that because I think it brings good luck,” says Herrera, who also shared her inspiration board for the dress with PEOPLE.

Wedding festivities can work up an appetite.
Following Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson’s wedding ceremony, the married duo treated their guests to cocktails in the gardens at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Calif. and dinner at a private location, a source told E! News exclusively.
The dinner kicked off with guests enjoying a selection of hors d’oeuvres and cocktails in the gardens and then they were escorted to dinner, where the bride and groom made their grand entrance as husband and wife.
Once they were in the room, Eric made sure to welcome everyone to dinner. And then the main feast began, with guests served wine and other beverages, as well as a gourmet three course meal. They were able to choose from a variety of options for dinner, including short ribs, fish and a vegetarian option.
As the couple and their guests enjoyed the evening, a live band played music.
Jessica and Eric tied the knot earlier today in a romantic ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch, saying “I do” around 4:45 p.m.
More than 250 guests attended the couple’s wedding, including Jessica’s sister Ashlee Simpson and her fiancé Evan Ross, Jessica Alba and her family, Topher Grace and his girlfriend, and Johnson’s old football buddies from Yale and the NFL, including Tim Rattay.
The nuptials were held on the ranch’s luscious lawn against a backdrop of lavish rose gardens under a canopy. After the wedding came to a close, guests could be heard screaming, cheering and clapping for the bride and groom.
UPDATE: It’s official! E! News has confirmed that the wedding ceremony has concluded and Jessica Simpson is now officially Mrs. Eric Johnson. Congrats!
Here comes the bride!
E! News has learned exclusively that Jessica Simpson’s wedding to Eric Johnson is officially underway. Simpson has already made her walk down the aisle and is just seconds away from formally swapping vows and becoming a Mrs. for the second time.
The ceremony is taking place in front of close friends and family at the luxurious San Ysidro Ranch, located in Montecito in Santa Barbara County, California on Saturday, July 5. Cheers and applause rang through the venue as the bride and groom appeared and the Beach Boys’ 1966 ballad “God Only Knows” was heard as well.
The newlyweds, parents to daughter Maxwell, 2, and son Ace, 1, exchanged vows on the ranch’s luscious lawn in a traditional ceremony setting, against a backdrop of lavish rose gardens and under a canopy with chevron seating.
The two have been celebrating their nuptials over the holiday weekend, beginning with a rehearsal dinner on Thursday night, followed by a Fourth of July barbecue.
More than 250 guests attended the wedding. The list included the likes of Jessica’s sister Ashlee Simpson and her fiancé Evan Ross, actress Jessica Alba and her family, That ’70s Show alum Topher Graceand his girlfriend and Johnson’s old football buddies from Yale and the NFL, including Tim Rattay.
Many of the women sported brightly-colored gowns in shades of pink, champagne, gold and turquoise, while male guests wore black tuxedos and suits with either black ties or bow ties.
On Saturday morning, Jessica and her bridal party enjoyed a special lunch and other guests got their hair and makeup done—while sipping champagne!
Also on Thursday, the couple’s guests enjoyed a leisurely day in and around the ranch, with the gentlemen playing a morning game of golf and the ladies spending some quality time in the spa. How lovely!
Truth be told, Jessica has been planning for her big day for several months now, but she wasn’t that far along in the process in January when she made an appearance on Good Morning America.
When asked if she could spill any details about the celebration, Jessica replied, “We don’t have an actual [wedding] date, but we do know that we want it to be this year. We need to get married!”
She then joked, “I already feel like we’re an old married couple. Like, if he wanted to run, he could’ve run when I was hormonal and pregnant.”
But the 33-year-old did tease to Today’s Savannah Guthrie that her wedding would “definitely be extravagant,” because, as she puts it, “I don’t do things small!”
She and Johnson first went public with their relationship in July of 2010 after meeting a mutual friend’s party months prior. The two lovebirds were seen smooching on a boat docked off of the island of Capri where they were celebrating Simpson’s 30th birthday.
In November of that year, the former Fashion Star mentor announced that she was engaged to her hunky beau.
And the good news kept coming for the good-looking duo…
On Halloween in 2011, Simpson announced that she was expecting her first child. She gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson in May of the following year.
Roughly two years later, she gave birth to the family’s second child—a baby boy named Ace Knute Johnson.
After having two kids, Simpson worked tirelessly to drop the baby weight and even used her wedding as her 2014 fitness inspiration.
“The new year will definitely bring on the wedding bells, which is exciting…I think it’s about time,” Simpson said in an advertisement for Weight Watchers.
“Knowing that I have the wedding coming up is an incentive to stay on Weight Watchers, count my points and stay in the gym. I mean, when you see my dress, you’ll know.”
And we do know! Simpson has been looking phenomenal as of late and was one absolutely stunning bride.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
Jessica Simpson tied the knot with former NFL player Eric Johnson at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California.
“We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment,” the newlyweds told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement on Saturday.
“To say ‘I do’ in front of family, friends and, most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives.”
Simpson, 33, wore a custom Carolina Herrera gown to exchange vows with Johnson, 34, in front of more than 250 guests, including Ashlee Simpson and her fiancé Evan Ross, Jessica Alba, Cash Warren, CaCee Cobb and Donald Faison.
The couple’s son, Ace, who just turned 1, served as a ring bearer and their daughter, Maxwell, 2, walked down the aisle as a flower girl accompanied by Ashlee’s 5-year-old son, Bronx.
Simpson started dating Johnson four years ago, when they were introduced by mutual friends, and the pair instantly fell for one another.
“I couldn’t ask for a better man in my life right now,” Simpson told PEOPLE in 2010. “I’m in a great place and if right now could last forever, I’d take it.”
Johnson took her up on that offer and proposed in November 2010 with a stunning ruby engagement ring by Neil Lane.
But wedding plans were put on hold – twice.
First Simpson gave birth to their daughter Maxwell, and then she welcomed their son Ace Knute last June.
“I definitely look forward to the day that I can look into his eyes and make that commitment that we both really long for,” Simpson told PEOPLE last year. “He’s just got to stop knocking me up!”
After getting her post-baby body back thanks to Weight Watchers and diligent workout sessions with trainer Harley Pasternak, Simpson is ready to start this new chapter in her life with Johnson.
In May, she posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram with the caption: “I can’t wait to marry you!!!”
CONGRATULATIONS JESSICA & ERIC!!! :-)
Dig in! Jessica Simpson is kicking off her wedding weekend with a red, white and blue July 4 barbecue.
Simpson, 33, and fiancé Eric Johnson, 34, are hosting an outdoor Independence Day party for all their wedding guests at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California. The family-friendly affair comes the day after a small rehearsal dinner took place at the same location.
“We’re having a real Americana 4th of July party,” says celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss, who organized the stars-and-stripes-themed gathering. “It’s very down home. But it’s not a T-shirt and jeans Americana. Because Eric’s from Boston, it’s more khakis and white shirts. Very Kennedy!”
The pre-wedding party includes a cocktail hour with passed appetizers including lobster dogs and corn fritters plus a shellfish station.
Then everyone will line up for a Southern-inspired buffet where beef brisket, smoked barbecue baby back ribs, fried chicken and grilled shrimp will be served, along with side dishes such as mac and cheese, coleslaw and potato salad.
For dessert, guests can indulge at a pie bar that will offer slices of apple, pecan, key lime, peach and coconut cream pie. Or, for something cooler, Bomb Pops, Creamsicles and watermelon are other options.
Partygoers will also be able to enjoy a photo booth, games for the kids – including the couple’s daughter Maxwell, 2, and son Ace 12 months – and, of course, sparklers to mark the national holiday.
Overall, the festivities “have a carnival feel,” says Weiss.
“Jessica didn’t want her guests to miss out on the 4th of July,” she adds. “That’s who they are. Their No. 1 concern is for their guests coming all this way for the wedding.”
“I do?” More like “I don’t” know! Just weeks away from tying the knot with fiance Eric Johnson on July 4, Jessica Simpson is still indecisive on what wedding venue she wants to use, an insider exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.
Simpson, 33, and the former NFL player, 34, have booked Santa Barbara’s 78-acre Bacara Resort & Spa “for now,” the insider tells Us. “But Jess keeps going back and forth on locales.”
The mom of Maxwell, 2, and Ace, 12 months, has, however, checked off other details from her wedding list. “The wedding will be very rustic-chic,” adds the source. Her guest list has also been finalized.
Engaged since 2010, Simpson and Johnson are sure to be counting down to their special day, and they aren’t the only ones. Earlier this month, Ashlee Simpson opened up about her older sister’s impending nuptials at the E3 Convention in L.A.
“My dress is really beautiful! It’s really, really stunning,” she told Us of her bridesmaid dress. She also revealed that the bride-to-be will not be wearing white.
“Jessica is having something unique made,” a source previously told Us. “It will be very different from the Vera Wang she wore to wed Nick Lachey.”
