The final fragrance in Jessica Simpson’s Fancy Collection is almost here! Called “I Fancy You”, the perfume is a collaboration between Jessica Simpson and Cécile Hua of MANE. It is a soft, velvety floral musk, which includes scents of pear, Fuji apple, lily of the valley, and sandalwood. Plus, the light blue bottle with tiny silver hearts is so delicate and sweet!
“This floral scent is romantic and feminine and conjures up the feelings of a first love that makes you realize that love can last forever,” Jessica said. Sounds like the perfect fragrance to wear for long walks on the beach! “I Fancy You” hits stores on June 30th.
With an assist from her younger sister Ashlee, Jessica Simpson is tapping into the tween category.
The Camuto Group, which holds the master Jessica Simpson license, has signed an agreement with The Jones Group Inc. to design, develop, produce and distribute Jessica Simpson tween apparel as part of its lifestyle offering of the Jessica Simpson Collection. This agreement expands the business the two companies are already doing with Jessica Simpson Jeanswear and Jessica Simpson Sportswear, both of which are licensed to Jones.
The new collection, which will be available in stores in the fourth quarter, will be geared to the fashion-forward tween, sizes 7 to 16. The line — which features sportswear, jeanswear and activewear — will interpret key styles and silhouettes from the juniors line, while focusing on Simpson’s girly, playful attitude. The tween line includes denim jeans (skinnys, boot cut, flares, colored jeans and shorts with leggings), knit tops, hoodies, pullovers, striped shrunken knits, graphic T-shirts and drawstring pants. The Simpson sisters will serve as co-creative directors for the line. This marks their first fashion collaboration.
“Creating a tween apparel collection was a natural extension for the brand. I’m excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today’s tweens,” said Jessica Simpson.
Ashlee Simpson added, “My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion.”
According to Camuto, the tween offering will include footwear (licensed to Stride Rite) and outerwear (licensed to Fleet Street), in addition to the sportswear, jeanswear and activewear. The sportswear line will be available at about 400 doors of specialty and department stores in the fourth quarter. The company has already lined up orders with Dillard’s, Lord & Taylor, Macy’s, Belk, Von Maur, Bon-Ton and The Bay in Canada.
Jones launched Simpson’s jeanswear collection last June (650 doors), and will introduce sportswear at retail this fall (450 doors). Jack Gross, chief executive officer of the Jones Jeanswear Group, projected sportswear and jeanswear combined to ring up $150 million to $200 million at retail annually by next year, evenly split between the two categories. Down the road, sportswear is forecast to outpace jeanswear. The tween line is expected to generate $20 million in retail sales in 2012, said Gross.
Overall, all products bearing the Jessica Simpson name are expected to rack up $1 billion in retail sales by the end of 2012.
Gross noted that Jones has been in the tween business with such lines as Energie, Glo and LEI. The Jessica Simpson tween line “will be a take down from the junior customer.” He expects Simpson’s tween line to compete with such resources as Calvin Klein, Guess, Polo and DKNY. However, he thinks Simpson’s line will have a more fashion-forward element and will complement the existing resources in the department.
The Simpson tween departments will have special fixturing and point-of-sale displays, and Ashlee and Jessica plan to make appearances. “They both get along so well and play off each other. They’ve very involved in every aspect, and take a lot of pride in their brand,” said Gross of the sisters.
Vince Camuto, founder and ceo of the Camuto Group, said, “We have strategically nurtured the Jessica Simpson Collection from its inception and have seen the need for expansion into the tween market cross-category.”

Gabby Sullivan, a teacher, wrote into The Oprah Show to tell us about seven of her students: Jakina, Isabel, Bailey, Paris, Eliza, Shanae and Alex. “They are so special because they have just taught me more than I believe I can teach them,” she says. “For many of the girls, their lives have been in and out of foster care. Some of them have been adopted and returned. Some of them do not know what it’s like for their mother to sit down with them and put makeup on them or tell them that they’re beautiful.”
The girls have prom in a few weeks, and Gabby says they won’t have the opportunity to get new dresses or have their hair done…unless they get a Harpo Hookup!
“My message to these girls is that they can do anything. That they can be anything. That they can dream as big as they want to dream. That there is no limit to what they can do,” she says. “And to know that Ms. Sullivan loves them.”
“I love teachers with that kind of passion and dedication and love for their students,” Oprah says. “So we knew just who to call for this prom dress SOS—singing star-turned-fashion mogul Ms. Jessica Simpson.”
Jessica went down to Jacksonville, Florida, to surprise Gabby’s girls with dozens of dresses, showstopping shoes and plenty of bling—everything they need for an unforgettable prom night.
With Jessica acting as the girls’ celebrity stylist, they each picked out the perfect ensemble. “It’s all about self-esteem,” Jessica says. “It’s all about finding confidence, and you can do that with a great pair of heels!”
After spending the day with Jessica, the girls reveal their gorgeous new looks on Oprah’s stage.
Eliza says this was the experience of a lifetime. “I never imagined any of this to happen,” she says. “I feel super blessed.”
Jessica’s not done hooking these seven girls up—each will be going home with a new wardrobe from Jessica’s latest fashion collection!
And that’s not all…each audience member will also receive a roller bag packed with jeans and accessories from the Jessica Simpson Collection.
To top it all off, Dove, who is committed to inspiring girls to reach their full potential, is giving each girl a $10,000 scholarship for her education.
Dove also wants to honor Gabby for being the kind of teacher the world needs more of. Another scholarship will be given in her name, so even more students can realize their dreams.
