Jessica Simpson holds her growing baby bump while posing backstage at Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday (March 6) in Hollywood.

The 32-year-old pregnant Fashion Star mentor confirmed on the show that she is having a baby boy!

“It’s a total different pregnancy. I just feel awful. I’ve been vomiting. I had no idea that a wiener can make me nauseous,” Jessica said. “Oh shucks! Well I guess told the world that I was having a boy.”

“I just outed that I am having a boy. I can’t believe I did that. It was not planned,” Jessica added. “It was kind of out and about in the press that I was having a boy. I was like ‘How do people know these things’?”

“I keep planning on getting married, but I keep getting knocked up. It’s just one of those things. Maybe I should go back to when I was younger, I was a virgin before I was married, so maybe I should just completely reverse and stop having sex altogether until Eric [Johnson] and I actually say I do,” Jessica said about having children before marriage.

It’s hardly news when a mother-to-be gains weight during pregnancy.

But when you happen to be in the public eye, the number of excess pounds that creep on is scrutinised to the nth degree.

And Jessica Simpson has revealed that while she was pregnant with baby Maxwell, she was called a whole host of names – including the rather unfortunate ‘Octomum’.

Octomum, of course, refers to Nadya Suleman, the second woman ever in the US to give birth to eight babies at once, causing a media frenzy following the birth of the octuplets in January 2009.

The Dukes Of Hazzard beauty was guest-hosting on Good Morning America when she confessed, having gained approximately 40 to 50 pounds while carrying her daughter.

She said: ‘I got [accused of having] quadruplets, I got Octomum, a lot of people put pressure on me while I was pregnant, but I was so excited having Maxwell in my belly I didn’t pay much attention.’

However, with a reported $4m deal with Weight Watchers to promote their product and slim back into her pre-pregnancy shape, Jessica is already back at the gym and embarking on a strict routine.

The mother-of-one added: ‘After having the baby I’ve really had to focus, I’ve started training and joined Weight Watchers.’

The Texan native is now so aware and sensitive of mothers-to-be that she created a maternity line, saying: ‘Everyone deserves to feel fashionable – especially someone carrying a baby!’

Not that Jessica particularly needs more cash rolling in, with GMA quoting her empire as $1billion.

Speaking on the breakfast show, Jessica continued: ‘I was just singing and had my fingers crossed for something big to happen – I’m still doing it years and years later.

‘I think the proudest moment of my life is having Maxwell, she’s my best accomplishment. And yes [I will be designing for her]. We will be doing baby!

‘[Fashion has] always been a passion growing up, my mum and I would put different outfits together to go to school. I would always get bet dressed.’

She added: ‘It was a natural segway into fashion, having this platform of a career and I would have fans saying “I want to wear what you’re wearing”, so why not put my name on it.’

Jessica also said her priorities had ‘completely changed’ since giving birth, concluding: ‘Even my New York trip has been different, I want to be in bed by 10pm.

‘Usually I’m in bed for 4am, not anymore! That was the old Jess.’

But the way on which she gushed over Maxwell is a clear indication of no regrets.

Jessica said: ‘She is very calm, me and Eric both having a calming presence about us. She has a little of my sister (Ashlee) in her, she has a little feistiness.

‘We haven’t started planning [the wedding] yet, but we know what we want. We want Maxwell there and enjoying it, so we’re going to get her through the first months of her life.’

As her weight loss programme continues, Jessica claims to have lost more than 40 pounds.
