        • Romo: Finger-Lickin' Good
“I want to taste greatness!’’ said the Cowboys fan, trying to negotiate his way to a sip of Tony Romo’s leftover beer.

It was a pre-Thanksgiving feast fit for a king and his queen. … or, at least, for a quarterback and his songstress. … oh, and for their admirers, too.

How did Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson fuel themselves for Thursday’s 34-9 win over the visiting Seahawks? By dining at Champps in Las Colinas, the sports bar located just south of Valley Ranch, just west of Texas Stadium and just a few out-patterns north of Romo’s new pad.

The ensuing game was eventful – I’ll get to that in a moment – but first allow me to get my TMZ on, OK?

So Tony and Jess are sipping beer and nibbling on wings, right? And then Romo leaves to go to the bathroom, you know, and when he exits the bathroom and re-enters the main dining area, guess what? The big crowd of restaurant patrons gives him a standing ovation! Awwww!

“Tony was very cool, as you’d expect, and Jessica was much more shy than you’d expect,’’ a Champps server tells us. “They sat by the fireplace and they had two bodyguards kind of hanging around; they didn’t want photos taken. But otherwise, they handled all the attention very well.’’

There was one maybe creep-out moment, though. As the celeb couple left the restaurant, a couple of diners scrambled over to the wait staff, asking if they could take possession of Romessica’s half-guzzled beer and chewed-on wings.

“I want to taste greatness!’’ said the Cowboys fan, who in fact would’ve just been tasting Tony Romo’s backwash.

For real greatness, Romo’s admirers would have to wait until Turkey Day, when the Pro Bowl quarterback served up a 300-yard game, completing 22 of 34 passes for 331 yards and three TDs. He was finger-lickin’ good. … even though it was just nine fingers worth.

“We'll get that splint off, and he might throw for 300 yards,’’ coach Wade Phillips deadpanned. “Oh, wait. … he did (throw for 300 yards).’’

Romo really might be back to 10 fingers in 10 days, when the 8-4 Cowboys face their next challenge, in Pittsburgh. Two injury concerns that blemished an otherwise ideal Thanksgiving Day at Texas Stadium – Marion Barber’s toe and DeMarcus Ware’s knee – will likely be healed by then, too.

With Romo as the triggerman, Jason Witten caught nine for 115 yards and a score. Terrell Owens was good for five for 98 and a score. MB3 had a rushing TD, rookie tight end Martellus Bennett contributed two catches for 35 yards and a touchdown, and Roy Williams caught two for 51.

Not to be outdone, Ware and the defense totaled seven sacks – and after each, every Cowboy sackmaster performed a silly little wing-flapping Turkey Dance. Sure, it was only the Seahawks – in the NFL family of meats, Seattle is Spam -- but why not celebrate? Left for dead by cynics who fail to understand the ebb of the NFL, the flow of the NFL and, yes, the mediocrity of the NFL, Dallas has now won three straight.

“This is the time to put your head down and go forward,’’ Romo summarized. “It'll be a challenge for us getting in the playoffs, but we feel very confident in our ability to win football games. I like our chances.’’

What does Tony Romo give the Cowboys? Maybe a 10th finger, maybe a crack at winning some December games, maybe a figurative sip of his celebratory beer. … maybe a taste of greatness?

Yep, thats right. I saw Jess yesterday at TX stadium. I just watched as she walked by with her LV handbag. I told my boyfriend it was her, but he didn't believe me, until the photographer started snapping pics of her near the gate. I had my brand new Jessica handbag with me. I'm happy for her, seems like Tony loves her for who she is and they also share their faith.

I love this time of year b/c I can put in her Christmas Cd....maybe she'll make another one...... I'd love a duet with Alan Jackson.

        • Rascal Flatts Talk About Jessica
On the note of country crooners, it is certainly starting to look like fellow winners Rascal Flatts have a thing for young hot blondes. After touring earlier this year with the energetic Taylor Swift, the "Me & My Gang" boys are getting ready to hit the road with the pop-turned-country songstress, Jessica Simpson. Although Flatts assured us that Simpson was given no special consideration because of her high profile.

"We listened to tons of artists, but we felt that Jessica Simpson was a great fit for us and we thought it would be a good marriage for us so-to-speak," the band said, also hinting that Simpson could be collaborating with them on a song in their upcoming album.

"We like pushing the envelope," they said with a sly smile.

"Bronx is beyond precious," Jessica, 28, tells in a statement. "I'm over the moon with joy. Life is a beautiful miracle.

Adds Jessica: "Ashlee and Pete and healthy, happy and enjoying every moment."

"Proud new parents Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz welcomed new son, Bronx Mowgli Wentz, late this evening," a rep for the couple told Us Friday morning. "[They] thank everyone for their well wishes!"

Jessica told Ellen DeGeneres Wednesday that Ashlee, 24, was doing everything to induce labor.

"Different foot massages and stuff," Jessica said. "I don't know. I think she's really just jumping around trying everything right now."

Us Weekly first broke the news that Simpson and Wentz, 29, were expecting in April.

When The Boot asked Jessica Simpson to tell us one thing about Dolly Parton that fans might not know, she told us a heartwarming story about Dolly's graciousness.

"One time I was staying in a hotel in Austin, and the receptionist told me, 'Dolly Parton's here, and guess what she did today! She invited all of the housekeepers up to her suite, and they had tea.'" Simpson told us.

So during our recent chat with Dolly, we turned the tables, asking her to tell us something about Jessica that fans might not know.

"I think the main thing they may not know is just how sweet and precious she really is," Dolly said of Jessica. "It really gets under my skin to see them crucify her. She's a very sincere girl, she's extremely talented, she's very bright. I don't know why the press wants to pick on her. They don't know what a special person she is."

The title track to Jessica's first country album, 'Do You Know,' was written by Dolly, who also sings on the track.

"I was very honored that she even wanted me to write something for her," says Dolly. "I thought our voices blended together well. I was honored to get to sing with such a great singer."

        • How Tony Romo Taught Jessica Simpson to Calm Down
Jessica Simpson has plenty to sing about. Her little sister Ashlee is due to give birth any minute and her relationship with Dallas quarterback Tony Romo is still going strong after one year.

"He is a good guy," she tells Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday's show. "And he's really just helped me along in life and taught me a lot about being comfortable being myself."

Still, 28-year-old Simpson reveals, Romo isn't the only Cowboy who's caught her eye. "I grew up in Dallas so I ... [had] a crush on Troy Aikman, who was the quarterback at the time," she reveals on the daytime talk show. "The Dallas Cowboys quarterback, I think there's a requirement, like you have to be good looking."

But Romo is the "whole package," she says, not just a pretty face.

"He's taught me to calm down a lot," Simpson says. "I'm not organized and he's not organized either – but [he] does make me want to be organized for us."

In fact, "we're really a lot alike," the "Come on Over" singer says. "I'm just more into fashion than he is!"

        • Jessica Simpson: Ashlee Is "Trying Everything" to Bring on Labor
Jessica Simpson says her pregnant sister Ashlee, who is due any day, is trying to everything to make that baby come out.

"Different foot massages and stuff," Jessica said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (airing Wednesday). "I don't know. I think she's really just jumping around trying everything right now."

She adds Ashlee will likely induce the labor.

"They're going to have to - it's already developing really quick," she told DeGeneres.

So, is it a boy or a girl?

"I can't say because they haven't said," Jessica said. "I'll stick my foot in my mouth and get in trouble and I won't be a good aunt."

Jessica also told DeGeneres that she is in love with beau Tony Romo.

"He is a good guy, and he's really just helped me along in life and taught me a lot about being comfortable being myself -- which is important," she said.

To be a Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Simpson went on, "there's a requirement. Like, you have to be good looking.

"Being out there and demanding and commanding that field -- that's pretty sexy," Jessica added. "But it's nice when you have the whole package."

Jessica said they're "really a lot a like. I'm just more into fashion than he is."

        • Jessica Simpson: Ashlee May Induce Labor
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is so eager to finally give birth that she may induce labor, her sister Jessica Simpson says.

"They're going to have to. It's already developing really quick," Jessica said Monday at a taping of the The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Ashlee – described by husband Pete Wentz more than two weeks ago as due at any moment – has already tried other ways to begin labor.

"Different foot massages and stuff," Jessica told DeGeneres in the show airing Wednesday. "I don't know. I think she's really just jumping around trying everything right now."

"Sooo just got back from seeing our lovely Jessica at the San Manuel Casino in Highland, Ca. Oh Lord, she was amazing. She looked stunning as always. This is my second time seeing her this year for her new album. And although I was not as close as the first time.... it quite frankly didn't matter. Her stage presence is insane. She started off with Boots Are Made For Walkin and rocked it! She went on to sing all of her songs on the album except..."Might as well be makin love", and "Man Enough".. She sang Shania's "Who's bed has your boots been under". She also sang "Son of a preacher man", in which she dedicated to her parents! She's soo sweet hehe. And as a special song for her best friend she sang Angels. Ken Paves was there! He's so adorable. haha. This night was perfect. I took my mom along because she, like me, thinks Jess is WONDERFUL. When Jess sang "Do you know" and "Angels" I got the chills! It was so incredible. Her voice is sooo beautiful. A fan yelled out to her that she was their inspiration and she repied "So are you!!". She says that we inspire her everyday! She loves us! =] I cant wait to see her in March with Rascall Flatts!"

        • Max Genereaux Reviews Jessica Simpson
Max Genereaux is the owner of Ballard's fine nightclub, the Sunset Tavern. But unlike most rock-club owners, Max harbors a deep love for all types of teenage girl pop music. Last Friday, he attended Jessica Simpson's performance at the brand new Snoqualimie Casino. Here is another classic piece of Genereaux concert reportage.

Girls! Girls! Girls! And I’m not talking about the Motley Crue type. I’m talking about the Jessica Simpson type. They were out about 2,000 strong last Friday at the brand new Snoqualmie Casino. In their 20s, 30s and 40s, they came in big blonde hair and sparkly shirts with girlfriends in tow. I haven’t seen that much big blonde hair since I was a kid in Lubbock, Texas, going to high school football games. Just as she did in her hit reality show, Newlyweds, Jessica was letting it all hang out. Her first country music album, Do You Know, is a very personal account of her past and current relationships, both of which she spoke of at length as she introduced each song. It was like being out with the girls on a weekend night with boyfriends and ex-boyfriends the main topics of conversation. And I have to hand it to her: On Do You Know, Jessica writes from the heart and her fans, at least at this show, get it. This is not the contrived NASCAR-infused, Big & Rich, Taylor Swift new country that dominates the charts these days. While I don’t think Jessica is on the level of Carrie Underwood or anywhere near the queen of new country (Shania), her music is simple, honest and heartfelt. I admire that.

The show started with country music legend and Jessica’s Duke’s of Hazzard costar Willie Nelson.

Via recorded message, he introducing Jessica as a good friend, a Texas girl and a country star on the rise. Could Jessica deliver? Opening with a cover of the mega hit “These Boots Are Made for Walking”, Jessica lit the crowd up. Immediately, I notice three things: 1) The band is great, 2) Jessica, unlike her little sister, can actually sing (unfortunately, like many of divas of her generation, she likes to belt it out whenever possible. Just because you can carry a note out doesn’t mean you should. But that was just me. The crowd loved it.) And 3) Her oversized sparkly shirt was just like one a fat lady would wear to cover her stomach and ass. It hung straight off her boobs and below her waist eliminating any sign of her waistline or ass. Where was the stylist for this choice? Little did I know she had a plan for this long shirt. During “These Boots” she gyrated slowly, pulled her shirt just up over her ass, shook it, swayed it in 360, looked over her shoulder and screamed “Yeaaah!” The show was on and the Girls! Girls! Girls! were loving it.

Jessica asked the crowd if they liked her new boots, which she had just bought at Nordstrom. Or, in her words, “I just got done droppin’ a big penny on these boots. I love you all. I really mean that.” And I believe her. She does love us.

The next 3 songs were from the new album. Jessica speaks to the crowd just like we are one of her girlfriends. Her introductions to the songs are like Cliff Notes, letting us in on the inspiration and meaning of her very personal lyrics. I suppose anyone willing to let America into their house with TV cameras doesn’t have much to hide. With “Still Beautiful” Jessica reminds all of us that even when life is hard we need to remember that each day is a gift from God and still beautiful. “You’re My Sunday”, she let us know, is about current boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo, and how he is the calming force in her life. I’ve never been spoon fed song-meanings like this at any show, on any level. And it doesn’t stop there. Next, Jess spells out that “Sipping On History” is all about ex-husband Nich Lachey, before launching into the heartfelt ballad about how she thought they’d grow old together, and what would have or could have been, like having a big trampoline with lots of kids. Snapping back to reality and showing a sense of humor, Jessica covers Shania Twain’s, “Whose Bed Have Your Boots (Been Under).” Snap! Take that Nick. While I can fault her for over-singing each chorus, I can’t fault her for her honesty. Jessica sings from the heart and the girls with big hair hear every word and, thanks to Jessica’s intros, they understand them as well.

And on and on it goes. The band continues to kick ass, Jessica continues to explain every song before singing it, and the crowd eats it up. And why wouldn’t they? These are songs about something most girls can identify with: Boys, and how crazy they make you girls when they don’t do what you want them to. Things like, coming over in the middle of the night looking for love and you can’t say no; things like talking you back into bed or a relationship when you should know better. But “It still don’t stop me”, Jessica says. “I never knew I was bitter until I fell in love with the wrong person,” she tells us before the last song, the hit “Come On Over”. But she makes sure to let us know that this song is about someone else. Not Nick the boy band playboy, but Tony the pro quarterback. And the girls all melt. I guess in some crowds all the girls do still want to date the star quarterback. And there I am, right back in Lubbock, Texas at a high school football game. Congratulations, Jessica. You got the quarterback and your live show did something that every good live show should; took me and the rest of the audience on a journey to another place.

Jessica Simpson is no stranger to the public eye. She climbed the charts as a pop star, had a reality show about her now-defunct marriage to Nick Lachey and starred in films.

But the singer revealed in an interview on Tuesday that it was working on her new album, the country disc "Do You Know," that gave her confidence.

Simpson is performing at San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino in Highland on Thursday night and will perform songs from the album with her full band as well as a couple of her big pop hits.

"I would never want my pop fans to be disappointed," Simpson said.

However, her focus is on "Do You Know."

"I really just grew up a lot while writing this record," Simpson said.

She co-wrote eight of the 11 songs on the album and said it documents some of the rough patches she's overcome and finding the good in the problems.

"There's definitely pleasure in honesty," she said.

But that doesn't keep her from feeling vulnerable on stage when she sings the songs in what she called an intimate performance.

"I'm human, I'm just like everybody else," she said.

Simpson rose to stardom through a pop music career and then through the MTV reality show "Newlyweds," which documented her marriage to 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey.

They divorced and Simpson starred on the big screen in roles in movies such as "Employee of the Month" and "The Dukes of Hazzard."

Simpson is now dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, whom she said she talks to about 20 times a day. She's been spending a lot of time in Dallas because of it, but it's been a change of pace from L.A., where she has to dodge the ever-present paparazzi.

"It's so great. I can make the decisions I would normally make," she said.

        • Rascal Flatts and Jessica Simpson coming to JPJ
Four of country music’s prettiest faces will soon grace the Jumbotrons of John Paul Jones Arena. Grammy-winning trio Rascal Flatts will headline at the JPJ on Thursday, January 29, at 8pm, and opening the festivities will be none other than former MTV reality star and current paparazzi quarry Jessica Simpson. Tickets for the double-bill go on sale at 10am next Saturday, November 15.

Vocalist Gary LeVox (né Gary Wayne Vernon), bassist Jay DeMarcus, and guitarist Joe Don Rooney formed the group in Nashville in 1999, and it didn’t take long for their polished harmonies and power-pop sound to catch that town’s ear. Only a year after forming, their debut single “Prayin’ for Daylight” reached #3 on the Billboard country charts. The buzz of that radio hit, as well as subsequent top 10 hits “This Everyday Love,” “While You Loved Me,” and “I’m Movin’ On,” moved 2 million copies of their debut album. Their 2002 follow-up Melt capitalized on that success with incredible staying power. They had their first #1 hit, “These Days,” and scored three more singles that reached #3 or higher over the course of the next two years.

None of this, however, could have anticipated the avalanche that was Feels Like Today. It sold 5 million copies (still their bestseller to date), reached #1 on the Billboard albums chart, spawned the platinum-selling #1 ballad “Bless the Broken Road,” a second #1 hit with “Fast Cars and Freedom,” and earned the group its first Grammy award for Best Country Song for “Bless the Broken Road.” Since then, they’ve scored four more #1 country singles, two more albums that hit #1 on the Billboard albums chart, and have become one of country music’s most consistently popular bands.

Jessica Simpson, while better known for her celebrity than her singing, has had no shortage of chart success. When she burst onto the scene in 1999, Simpson initially got lost in the shuffle amid fellow, more-popular blonde pop princesses Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Then came her marriage to former member of boy band 98 Degrees Nick Lachey, their MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica (in which Simpson famously wondered whether Chicken of the Sea tuna was chicken or fish, or why she’s never seen any buffalo with wings). The show was a ratings smash and propelled Simpson’s third album In This Skin to sell 3 million records and included her first and only #1 single “With You.”

Sadly for MTV viewers, the Lachey-Simpson union didn’t last and since their divorce in 2005, she’s stayed on the covers of tabloids with high profile flings with singer-songwriter John Mayer, and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, the latter of which earned her the nickname “Yoko Romo” because the Cowboys lost both games Simpson attended in 2007, including their playoff game against the eventual Super Bowl champion New York Giants. Apparently Romo may have equally jinxed Simpson. Since their fling, Simpson has failed to sell more than a million copies of her albums A Public Affair or Do You Know.

        • Jessica Simpson forges a new path in country music
It comes as no surprise that Jessica Simpson's newfound career in country music was met with skepticism in Nashville.

Her pop career had been undistinguished, save for the soaring ballad "I Wanna Love You Forever," and her 41-episode run with ex-husband Nick Lachey on an MTV reality show, "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica," left her with the image of a ditzy blonde celebrity.

But reaction to Simpson's new album, "Do You Know," has been more positive than she anticipated. The album is currently at No. 20 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.

"There were definitely skeptics, but the reaction and response has been overwhelmingly exciting," Simpson said in a phone interview this week. "I have people coming up to me all the time saying I should have been doing this for my entire career."

Indeed, Simpson sounds like a natural on such songs as "Come on Over," "Pray Out Loud" and "You're My Sunday."

In "Sipping on History," Simpson yearns for the simple country life she lived while growing up in a musical family in Texas. She also dreams of a romance for the ages.

"I could've been your June Carter Cash/ Waltzed right along with you," she sings.

"It's about a love that could have been," Simpson said. "I've always wanted to sit on a porch swing with my husband, my future husband, at 80 years old and watch our grandkids play in a sandbox and just sip on lemonade and look back on our lives together."

Simpson, who performs the opening concert Friday night at The Ballroom at the new Snoqualmie Casino (tickets $75-$175), was quick to point out that this wasn't the first album she recorded in Nashville. When she was 15, she recorded a solo gospel album. But the label folded before the album could be released. Simpson's grandmother paid for a pressing, which the singing Simpson family sold while touring the Christian-music circuit.

On "Do You Know," Simpson worked with Nashville songwriters Brett James and Hillary Lindsey, who have written songs for Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Jessica Andrews. They helped turn Simpson's most intimate thoughts into a collection of tender, heartfelt songs.

"I really wanted to write a record that was a reflection of where I'm at in my life right now and what I've been through," she said. "The record ended up writing itself."

Simpson can't imagine herself doing anything but country for the foreseeable future.

"I can express myself, and I don't have to be singing about what other people think I should be singing about. That makes my job less than a job and more of a hobby," she said.

Simpson's mentor is Dolly Parton, who sings a duet with Simpson on the title song. Simpson had met Parton after flubbing a version of "9 to 5" during a Parton tribute concert. Parton, another blond star with deep rural roots, was sympathetic and encouraging.

"Honestly, that moment of failure really ended up being one of the best moments in my career because I got to create this relationship with Dolly and become even more inspired to believe in my talent," she said. "And then to be able to sing with her is a dream come true."

        • Joe Simpson: Ashlee Is So 'Ready for This Baby!'
Ashlee Simpson may be only 24 – but, says her dad, she became a full-fledged grown-up the moment she learned she was expecting.

"The day she found out she was pregnant, she became a woman," Joe Simpson tells PEOPLE.

"She's concerned about what she eats and how she prepares for the child and [details like], is the baby's room 'green' enough?" he explains. "It's a transformation you never expect as a parent – you pray for it, but never expect it. She's ready for this baby!"

And, Simpson says, his son-in-law Pete Wentz is equally prepared for their impending due date.

"Pete is the king of details, so he wants to make sure the baby's room is just right – the right colors, the right sheets, the right look," Simpson gushes. "He's a great parent."

Auntie Jessica

"Papa Joe" (as he hopes to be called) also says that his eldest daughter Jessica is eager to assume the mantle of doting auntie. In fact, Simpson – who manages the careers of both his daughters – says he's doing everything he can to keep Jessica from bailing on her ongoing country-music tour.

"I'm trying to keep her out there until the baby's born," he adds. "I have a couple of other dates I need her to play!"

Grandpa Joe

In fact, the only Simpson who isn't completely ready for the new arrival is Joe himself. "I am too young to be a grandpa!" the 50-year-old declares. "But I am excited."

As for the name of the Simpson-Wentz baby, the former preacher is keeping mum. "I'm not allowed to give any hints," he insists. "I can tell you it's not Joe. I wished, I tried, but it didn't work."

        • Jessica Simpson Says Tony Romo 'Saved Me'
With her relationship with Tony Romo approaching the one-year mark, Jessica Simpson is gaining some perspective on her life and loves.

"I'd always fall for guys I wanted to save," the singer, 28, tells Cosmopolitan for its December issue (on sale Nov. 11). "For the first time, I fell in love with someone who saved me."

As for where the road with Romo, also 28, may take her, Simpson says, "I think any person who I'm gonna date for longer than six months, I definitely am investing in something long-term. If I get married again, then it will be the last time."

From 2002 to 2005, Simpson was married to Nick Lachey, who, she says, "will always be a part of my life, but next time, I'm marrying the right one."

        • Jessica Simpson Pal: I'm 'Fine' – With Nine Stitches
Hairstylist-to-the-stars Ken Paves says he's on the mend after getting bashed in the face by a paparazzi camera while trying to protect friend Jessica Simpson.

"I appreciate everyone who has expressed concern," he said in a statement Monday. "While I did not expect a dinner out with friends would end up with me in the emergency room and nine stitches in my head, I am fine."

Photographers descended upon Simpson, 28, and Paves when they left the L.A. hotspot Madeo over the weekend. When Paves rushed forward to help her to their car, a photographer struck him in the face with a camera, apparently by accident, sending him to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

"My only real concern on Saturday night, and it remains so in retrospect, was for the safety of my friend and all concerned," he says. "I understand everyone has a job to do, including paparazzi. If I were to say anything about Saturday night, it is only to encourage that everyone would respect and care for the safety of others above all else."

With a whimsical Winnie the Pooh theme, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz celebrated a baby shower with family and celebrity friends, including sister Jessica Simpson and pal Nicole Richie, who brought daughter Harlow.

"She was glowing and insanely happy," says a source. Proud-dad-to-be Pete Wentz, 28, even stopped by the Saturday shower at the Hotel Bel Air. "He was so excited too!"

The guests, who also included Simpson-Wentz's mother Tina and actress Emmy Rossum, dined on home-style food in keeping with the Simpson family's Southern roots: chicken and mashed potatoes.

Simpson-Wentz, 24, received numerous presents including gift bags from Kitson Kids and a mini Burton snowboard outfit and matching gear.

        • Inside Ashlee's Baby Shower

        • Carrie Underwood: 'I Haven't Talked' to Tony Romo Since May
Carrie Underwood has a message for Jessica Simpson: She and ex Tony Romo have not spoken in months.

"I haven't talked to him since, like, May," Underwood, 25, tells Elle in its December issue.

"It was just something that was said in passing," the country singer says, referring to an interview in which she said Romo still called her. "I would never mean to say anything to hurt anybody or to stir up anything because I'm just not about drama – at all."

As for reports that Simpson was upset by the claims, Underwood says, "I might be mad too if somebody said my boyfriend was calling some other girl. So I can definitely see where [she] would be coming from."

Asked about her current dating life, Underwood emphatically shoots down rumors that she dated Olympian Michael Phelps. "I swear on everything, on my job, on my house, my dog," she says. "That's how serious I am. It's all just a lie."

While Underwood has been linked to Travis Stork, a former Bachelor, the singer says she is not one to kiss and tell.

"If I say I am [dating someone] or I'm not, as soon as this magazine comes out, it might be the opposite of what I tell you now. In three months, it'll be 'Carrie said she's not dating anybody,' yet last night, I was out on the town with some guy. He's going to get mad at me. Everybody's going to think I'm a liar. It's just best not to go there."

        • OMG! Texts bring Simpson to Brighton H.S.
Brighton High School students texted over 340,000 text messages to KYGO's School Spirit Contest to win a visit from superstar Jessica Simpson on Oct. 31. Simpson was welcomed into the BHS-KYGO School Spirit Pep Assembly by KYGO DJs Mudflap and Kelly Ford, but before she entered, the crowd needed to "make the banners sway." To rousing cheers, Jessica entered the gym.

"I love you guys," said Simpson, "I can't believe how many text messages you guys sent."

Simpson spent the next thirty minutes answering questions from select students and posing for pictures with students and faculty. One lucky student, Kyle Gardner, asked Simpson to marry him, to which she replied, "I can't do that, but how about a hug?"

Gardner went to the stage and even received a kiss on the cheek from Simpson.Simpson posed for pictures with the cheerleading squad, the dance team and acknowledged the state awards the school newspaper and yearbook recently received. She cheered on the BHS football team and encouraged a victory over the Adams City Eagles.

"Who are you playing again?" asked Simpson, "What is their mascot?" Upon hearing the mascot Simpson replied, "Eww."

This is an interesting pun since Simpson's boyfriend, Tony Romo, is the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, whose division rival is the Philadelphia Eagles. Simpson continued to acknowledge the school spirit that BHS students exhibited over the past two weeks, and especially at the assembly. She mentioned her own high school experiences and advised the students to remember that while there are great memories to be had in high school, there are things that last even after high school

"I met my life-long friends in high school," said Simpson.

        • Jessica Simpson's BFF Injured by Paparazzi
He's the hairstylist to the stars, but Ken Paves just took one for the team.

E! News has learned that Paves was rushed to the hospital early this morning after being injured by paparazzi while leaving a popular restaurant with Jessica Simpson and her entourage.

"There were so many paparazzi waiting for Jessica and trying to get a picture of her that they all started pushing," says an onlooker. "Jessica was ducking down and Ken Paves and her other male friend were trying to cover her and that's when Ken was hit in the face with a camera."

The perfectly coiffed group was leaving Madeo restaurant at 12:15 a.m. Sunday morning when they were mobbed by waiting paparazzi. Paves' face was cut during the melee.

A source tells E! that it seemed like Ken didn't really think much of the blow to the eye at first. "He seemed shocked at first," says a source. "He said something to the photographer like 'dude, you just hit me' but that's all he really said before getting into the car."

Once Jessica was safely in the back seat and Ken was in the front passenger seat, the other male in Jess' entourage went around to the driver seat. Before he got inside, he got into a fight with another paparazzi.

"It seemed like Jessica's friend was just really frustrated because the photographers were overstepping their bounds and had just hit Ken in the head," says an onlooker.

Once Paves got into the car he probably noticed that the hit to his eye was worse than he originally thought since he was bleeding. "Blood was running down his nose when he was in the car," says a source. "I guess that's when Jess and the driver realized Ken might need to get stitches because they went straight to Cedar Sinai [Medical Center] from the restaurant."

E! News learned that as of 1:15 a.m. Simpson and Paves were still inside the hospital.
