Jessica Simpson’s billion-dollar fashion empire reflects her own low-key but foxy style. Her secret: Use upscale touches to elevate everyday looks.
Her biggest venture yet?
Her new daughter, Maxwell. Here’s how the new mom makes chic, everyday fashion choices.
HAVE AN MVP ACCESSORY
“I wear the same delicate chain with a sparkly little charm all the time. I’ve given it as a gift to a few of my friends, because it goes with everything.”
GIVE YOURSELF A LIFT
“I couldn’t wait to get back in heels this summer! I especially like print ones because they’re ladylike but make a real statement.”
JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE PREGNANT…
“You’re not limited to maternity clothes. I wore flowy or fitted maxidresses, and practically lived in Roberto Cavalli’s comfy-chic caftans.”
THE MORE LIVED-IN DENIM LOOKS, THE COOLER IT IS
“I have a vintage denim button-down that I absolutely love. It’s been patched and sewn so many times, but it is my favorite thing to throw on.”
WHEN IT COMES TO ACCESSORIES…
“Mix it up: Gold and silver, diamonds with plastic, or a polished bag with a casual outfit feels eclectic and fun.”
THE BEST OUTFITS…
“Reflect who you are. I love to be comfortable, but I also love to play up the glamour. My go-to look–denim shorts and a tee with a blazer and heels–is a blend of both. It’s classic, but flirty, too.”
THE SECRET TO GLOWY SKIN:
“On my days off I go simple, and I constantly moisturize my skin to keep it healthy. Some BeautyMint face lotion and lip gloss is all I use.”
How does Jessica treat her skin on her days off? She says, “I go simple, and I constantly moisturize my skin to keep it healthy. Some BeautyMint face lotion and lip gloss is all I use.”
July 21, 2012: Jessica Simpson is back at the gym in Los Angeles.

FINGERS CROSSED! :)
A load of crap… anyways here it is.
A friend of both Simpson girls tells Gossip Cop, “That’s hilarious. Ashlee and Jess are extremely close and were together all day on Jess’s birthday.”
It was a very happy birthday indeed for Jessica Simpson, who turned 32 on Tuesday! The new mom had a day and night full of celebrating with her closest friends, family, and newborn baby Maxwell at home in LA. Jessica brought Maxwell for a birthday lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and in the evening, Jess hosted an intimate dinner party at home.
Jessica’s fiancé, Eric Johnson, toasted to his love in between delicious courses. How did Eric make this birthday even more special for Jessica? A source close to the couple says he “filled the day with sweet surprises for her” and gave her a painting by one of her favorite artists.
Of course, baby Maxwell, who was born May 1, made Jessica’s 32nd even more amazing. According to our source, Jessica loved “getting ready with her best girlfriends” and “being able to introduce Maxwell to so many of her friends!”
This is Jessica’s third birthday that she’s spent with Eric. Two years ago, Jessica’s 30th celebration on a yacht in Capri was one of the first public displays of affection between the two, and there’s been so much happiness ever since. Happy birthday, Jessica!
Like many new moms, Jessica Simpson has been commemorating all the little milestones that come with having a baby since welcoming her daughter, Maxwell Drew, on May 1.
But on Tuesday night, Simpson was the cause for celebration, at a backyard dinner party held at her L.A. home in honor of her 32nd birthday.
“Jessica was in heaven because she was celebrating for the first time as a mom!” a friend of the fashion mogul tells PEOPLE. “And Maxwell got to make a short appearance in her Fendi white dress.”
“Eric made a wonderful toast,” added the friend. Party guests included Simpson’s parents, her sister Ashlee Simpson, Ashlee’s son Bronx, and Simpson’s longtime pal Cacee Cobb.
Rachel Ashwell of Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Couture designed the party decor, replete with vintage china, tons of candles, fresh flowers and a chandelier above the star’s (covered!) swimming pool.
After guests dined on gnocchi with brown butter sage and pappardelle with yellow tomato sauce, everyone dug into short ribs with basil pesto pecorino and chili and pan-seared snapper. And in lieu of a traditional birthday cake, guests were served mini s’mores, pudding pies in mini mason jars and banana brown betties with ginger snap crumble for dessert.
The home setting for the party was a meaningful one: Simpson met her fiancé Eric Johnson at her home in in 2010 and he proposed there six months later.
In May, Simpson gushed about how motherhood has enriched her life. “I’m the most aware I’ve ever been,” she told PEOPLE. “I know I was always meant to be a mom, and I think I’m doing a really good job!”
How cute is that pic of Maxi? Awwwww!
