It’s a busy time for Jessica Simpson, whose newest beauty endeavor, BeautyMint, is launching Oct. 31. Jessica is the face of the new skin care brand, which was created with the help of celebrity esthetician Nerida Joy. The concept is simple: after you fill out a short online questionnaire about your complexion issues and goals, BeautyMint delivers a customized skin care regimen. “The questions are designed on what I ask my own clients,” Joy says. “It’s great for people who aren’t able to see a facialist.” While more products will roll out next year, BeautyMint will launch with four- or five-product regimens ($39.99 and $49.99, respectively). Joy will share advice and expertise on YouTube, too, and with 30-plus years of experience, she’s a walking encyclopedia of skin care knowledge.

NBC gets into the fashion business this midseason with Fashion Star, hosted and executive produced by Elle Macpherson.
The competition show also includes “celebrity mentors” Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos. The series follows 14 designers as they put on a major fashion show each week and compete for a chance to launch their lines at Macy’s, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Buyers from all three stores will purchase some of the work each week (which will immediately be available in their stores), but designers who to fail to sell their wares are eliminated.

The 31-year-old singer and fashion designer has been working on a skin care collaboration with the site, set to launch this Monday (October 31)!
