Pop princess-turned-fashion mogul Jessica Simpson and her fiance, Needham homey Eric Johnson dined at Lydia Shire’s Scampo last night. But earlier in the day they popped up at The Paramount on Beacon Hill giving the locals something to talk about over their tuna melts!
Jess, we’re told, shared a stack o’ blueberry pancakes with her hulking honey but ordered herself a more calorie-conscious turkey burger. After all, Jess doesn’t want to pack on pounds before the wedding. According to the interwebs, Simpson has already shed 20 pounds in anticipation of the Big Day.
And speaking of big, Johnson — a Yale-educated former NFL player who dropped out of business school to court the Texas cutie — also scarfed down a mushroom and Swiss cheese omelet, wheat toast and a glass of fresh carrot juice. The boy must have needed to carbo-load before a day of window-shopping on Newbury Street and cruising around the Common!
The night before, the teeny-weeny fashionista and her fiance dined with his fam, who now live in Dover, and her agent at the Boston’s hottest spot of the mo — Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar in the Back Bay. Proprietor Chris Jamison was so pleased that Jess and her posse chose his eatery, he bought them a round of Casa Noble Single Barrel Tequila and invited Jess to knock back a shot. Whoo-hoo! Dressed in skinny jeans, super-high stilettos and a casual top, Jess partied with her soon-to-be in-laws and shared chips and salsa and two rounds of Pop Rocks cotton candy with them after dinner.
Star-struck diners left the couple alone at Lolita, but dished to us yesterday that Jessica and Eric were “affectionate” but not over-the-top with the PDA.
“Eric kissed her cheek and put his arm around her as they dined — nothing too crazy but very cute,” said one gawker.
