Jessica Simpson and Dolly Parton exchanged tweets this week about the woes of having ample bosoms. Both blondes have a lot going on in the chest area, and both have caused quite a stir by wearing revealing tops, like the one Jessica wore at her Grand Ole Opry performance last year.
Dolly started up the conversation Monday, tweeting: “Aahhh chiropractor… Hurts so good you lug these around and see if your back don’t hurt!” Then Jessica responded: “Amen sister .”
Jessica was the talk of the town last year after her debut at the Grand Ole Opry wearing an extremely low-cut top. A fan even wrote to People magazine, saying she should have covered up more.
The blondes’ boobs have been the topic of discussion plenty of times, and even Jessica’s dad Joe put in his 2 cents during a 2004 interview with GQ. He said (via CNN.com): “Jessica never tries to be sexy. She just is sexy. If you put her in a T-shirt or you put her in a bustier, she’s sexy in both. She’s got double D’s! You can’t cover those suckers up!”
Dolly openly talks about the girls, too: “My breasts have served me well. I don’t know if I’m supporting them or they’re supporting me. But of course I’ve had them jacked up a bit. And they’re part of the persona. It always takes a bit of pressure off me,” she said in 2008.
Guess Jessica Simpson isn’t a Melrose Place fan – at least not anymore!
After the recent news that her sister, Ashlee, had been cut from the CW drama, the singer blasted the show on her official Twitter page. “CW catching up on MP,” Simpson Tweeted on Sunday night. “Who writes this crap? i have had bad scripts to work with, but this? thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press.”
For her part, Simpson-Wentz was more measured when discussing her character’s fate.
“Having the chance to play Violet on Melrose Place has been a thrill,” she said in a statement. “Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy, unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance. Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of Melrose Place for allowing me this opportunity.”
In a recent poll, 67 percent of PEOPLE.com readers said they wouldn’t miss Simpson-Wentz on the TV show.
Girls and diamonds are inseparable. Just ask singer-actress Jessica Simpson went shopping at Mumbai’s Giantti, a luxury jewellery store that opened recently. Neha Dhupia accompanied her. Incidentally, Neha had inaugurated the store. Jessica was accompanied by an entourage of about 10 people, most of them were crew from her show, and a security team.
Jessica and Neha have been spending a lot of quality time together during the former’s visit to the country, as Neha will represent India in The Price Of Beauty.
After going through the collections on display, Jessica settled on two jewellery sets. She chose a gorgeous Maharani-styled kundan necklace embellished with rubies and emeralds, and encased in 24 karat gold. The ring she chose was set in 22 karat gold with semi-precious stones, rubies and emeralds, along with kundan work in 24 karat gold.
The second set, which Jessica bought to take back with her, had bracelets, rings and earrings, all set in 14 karat gold, with uncut diamonds, and a silver work that had an oxidised look.
Now that her sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has been canned on Melrose Place, Jessica Simpson says she isn’t a fan of the CW soap. The singer, 29, used to promote her sister’s former show regularly on her Twitter (“Everyone watch my sis on melrose place tonight,” she wrote Oct. 20).
But on Sunday, she changed her tune drastically. Jessica wrote: “CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap? i have had bad scripts to work with, but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press.”
According to the new issue of Us Weekly (on newsstands now), Ashlee, a veteran of TV’s 7th Heaven, was canned because producers thought she couldn’t act.
“They hired her because they needed a good name to help create buzz,” a set insider told Us Weekly. “But she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible.”
Seconds another source: “She’s the worst actress, but nobody will tell her.”
What’s next for Ashlee?
Possibly more acting.
Us Weekly reports the mom of 11-month-old Bronx (dad is rocker Pete Wentz, 30) doesn’t want to return to her songstress roots. “She’s reading scripts. Acting is her focus now,” a source tells Us Weekly. “If she had an album, she’d have to tour and be away from Bronx. She wants consistency.”
